Nigerian Students And Software Engineer Busted In India For Drug Peddling

Two Nigerian nationals, including a student and a software engineer, have been arrested by the Central Crime Branch in Bengaluru, India, for alleged involvement in drug peddling. The accused, identified as Thomas Navid Chime and Ngwu Kingsley Chukwuemeka, were found to be in possession of 3.8 kg of MDMA and 82 ecstasy tablets worth approximately Rs 7.8 crore.

Key Details:

Arrests: Thomas Navid Chime, 42, and Ngwu Kingsley Chukwuemeka, 32, were arrested on September 25 in Hebbagodi.

Drugs Seized: 3.8 kg of MDMA crystals and 41 grams of ecstasy pills worth Rs 7.8 crore.

Previous Records: Thomas had been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in 2022 for drug peddling and was released on bail. Ngwu had two cybercrime cases registered against him in Gujarat.

Modus Operandi: The duo sourced drugs from Delhi and Mumbai and sold them to software engineers and students in Bengaluru using the "drop location" method.

The Central Crime Branch is investigating the case, and further details are awaited. This arrest is part of a larger crackdown on drug peddling in Bengaluru, where authorities have seized narcotics worth Rs 9.93 crore in recent operations.
